These Rental Terms set out the agreement between RiverCam Tourist Cameras (“we”, “our”) and each customer (“you”) when hiring camera equipment. By confirming a booking, you agree to the following conditions. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
All bookings must include a valid name, contact number and email address. At collection, a photographic ID (passport, driving licence or national identity card) must be presented. We do not retain ID copies; verification is visual only.
Each kit is checked before release. You are responsible for reasonable care of the equipment during the hire period. Any loss, major damage or theft should be reported immediately by phone or email. Minor wear is accepted as normal use.
Hire periods run according to the agreed booking (half-day, full-day or multi-day). Late returns may incur a modest additional charge based on the hourly rate. Please return items with the same accessories provided—lens caps, straps, bags and batteries.
Our service includes basic protection against internal faults. We recommend that visitors use their travel insurance to cover accidental damage or loss. RiverCam is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including data loss from memory cards.
Memory cards are formatted upon return. We do not retain any personal photos or recordings. You are responsible for transferring your images before returning the equipment. The process complies with UK GDPR principles for data minimisation and privacy by design.
Payment is due at collection by card or contactless method. Refunds for cancellations made more than 24 hours before the start time will be issued in full. Within 24 hours, partial refunds may apply depending on preparation costs.
Equipment must not be used in restricted zones, near watercraft without consent, or in any way that violates local by-laws. The user must handle the kit responsibly and follow safety instructions provided at the desk.
We ensure that all equipment is functional, clean and safe to use. We reserve the right to decline a booking or terminate a hire if misuse or unsafe behaviour is observed. Staff members are authorised to inspect returned items before confirming completion.
We are not liable for delays or cancellations caused by events beyond our control, including severe weather, power failure or public transport disruption. If such an event occurs, customers may reschedule or request a refund.
We aim to resolve issues fairly and promptly. Complaints should be sent to:
